Fundraising

  1. Band -

    • Update on new uniforms: Cost is over $138,000…. $169,000

      1. The school has raised around $1,200 so far. A lot of small donations.

      2. Missing Raising Cane’s fundraiser.

      3. The district is pushing it out on social media and other platforms.

      4. One issue is business donations so Chris can send his contact out for FAME to follow up on.

      5. District contributions update.  Working through what the amount will be. Expecting more funds as enrollment was high.

      6. Top priority is the jackets. If we fall short, we are looking at what we would need to delay and yet get as much of the new uniform. Hoping to reach $69,000 by December so we can order the jackets. If we get more funds, we’ll look at more items from the full uniform.

      7. How about shoes? Shoes and gloves are considered rental items. Students are charged $25 for one-time rental which helps cover replacement.  As we get bigger, we will likely look at a larger number but they keep their shoes/property of the family that buys it.

      8. FAME applied for three other grants to obtain another funding source for uniforms.

    • Snap fundraiser update - Kids haven’t been able to sign up on the website/app. The emails they receive look like spam.

    • Is there a Pizza Ranch fundraiser? Kids have to bus tables. Still working through details to see if they can find a day of the week with all the other activities in progress.

    • Fruit Sales-

      1. https://sales.minntexcitrus.com/organization/clear-creek-amana-fame/

      2. People can purchase under a student name then it money goes to band or people can purchase under CCA FAME and then the purchase goes towards FAME

      3. STRONGLY ENCOURAGE student/family participation

      4. Students can go door to door, but the school cannot mandate it

      5. Use paper form instead of website only; payment upon ordering

      6. November 5th is the deadline to order.

      7. December 12th is the pick up date.

      8. FAME will alert parents of the fruit sales at the potluck and future fundraising opportunities.

      9. Are other teachers receiving paper forms or are they getting the fruit sales information to their parent contacts? We should send a reminder to all the FAME teachers to place in their newsletters.  Tom Daniel will continue to post to all newsletter options.

      10. If every family could sell 10 items, that is 4000 items times $5 would be $20,000

      11. Could we have the band play for a little while during the pick up? It would coordinate well with the pep band on 12/12.

    • Sugar Bottom Bakery Cookie Fundraiser - JP update

      1. $26 a dozen - we would receive $8 per dozen. Pick up at school at concession stand 4:30-6:30pm at December band concert. Tied into the band uniform fundraiser.

      2. JP would also like to look at a future order for Choir.

    • Corridor Marching Classic - Wednesday, Oct. 15th

      1. The concession stand is ready.

      2. Start time to open? It’s an early out day so Chris will be there early to set up. Liberty High will be coming in around 4:30pm. Expect a dinner rush between 4:30 - 5:30pm. At 5:30pm will be the national anthem. Expect steady traffic.

      3. Visiting schools will be in the far north up to the press box. CCA will be in the south end zone. Panther will be in the visitor stand. Band equipment will come in the North entrance.

      4. Food:

        1. When Panthers arrive after the National Anthem, they will receive Raising Canes. It will be a grab and go dinner.

        2. Will we have enough food? We have sold 75 tickets so far but expect many more.

        3. Agreed to 300 chicken pieces with toast but should be ready to pick up more if needed.

        4. Burgers and hot dogs have been purchased. Will be reimbursed with a receipt.

  1. Show Choir -

    • Mum Fundraiser - Spreadsheet on Google Drive with Calculations

    • Purchased 120 Mums

    • Sold 99 @ $22 = $2178, 10 @$27 = $270, 8 @ $25 = $275

    • Total Revenue = $2723

    • Less Purchase Amount = ($660)

    • Less Wix Fees = ($82.82)

    • Total Profit = $1,980.18

  1. Sponsorship/Membership Drive -

    • Alpha graphics is generating the leaves for giving tree donations.

  2. Carver -

    • Talk about it at band potluck and talk it up within the band and choir parents at all schools.

    • Get interested volunteers sooner rather than later so the background checks can be done and they are ready to volunteer.

  3. There’s a parent sign-up for volunteers in the middle school band. This could be a source for more volunteers which means more Carver opportunities.

Curricular/Non-curricular Discussion

  1. FAME Programming Grant

    1. Replacing Teacher allocation with FAME Programming Grant.  It will shift to a grant system. If the middle school band needs $500 for something, they fill out an application.  Up to $3,500 each period, two times per year.  This is an opportunity for FAME to support creative and/or larger priced items that a program needs but cannot purchase using curricular funds.

  2. Senior Scholarship

    1. Tracking parent involvement from K-12 throughout the years. One of the questions on the scholarship app will ask about family involvement in FAME. This will be part of an overall point system for scholarship determination.

    2. Neither Lindsey (who has a senior) nor Lynette will be involved in application reviews. Three individuals outside of FAME will serve as the scholarship judges.

    3. Ideally 3 - $500 scholarships

Other:

  • Liz Boughton is working on the FAME website now - Woohoo!!!  We are so grateful!
